The Showroom Sales Consultant will grow sales and increase company profits by cultivating current customers and recruiting new repeat customer business.  The representative will effectively service multiple accounts in a self-directed work environment while following all company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Meet average daily sales goals.

Demonstrate strong selling skills through the consistent acquisition of new, profitable customers and the complete follow through of the sales system.  

Set up displays or arranges for merchandise in the showroom to promote sales.

Work in a cooperative environment with other team members.

Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.

Prepare quotations for retail customers, contractors and plumbers.

Accept payments and make change.

Handle phone inquiries for merchandise availability and shipment verifications

Arrange for delivery of merchandise for customers.

Clean displays, counters, or tables as needed.

Remain current on product and industry knowledge by attending sales meetings, vendor training, trade shows, organizational meetings and reading trade journals.

Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors.

Order, stamp and file literature as needed.

Follow company policies and procedures.

Build on the "family culture" and customer service philosophy of VAMAC, INC.


It is an expectation for associates to utilize all resources (contacts, friends, family) to search out new repeat customer business.  Associates are to use the tools available through VAMAC such as printed flyers and business cards to promote VAMAC and solicit new business.  Associates are to have the ability to speak about Web Order Entry and any current promotion to current and new customers in an effort to secure NRCB.

Demonstrate ability to prioritize and multi-task, develop and maintain proficiency in the use of the Eclipse program, Web Order Entry, Inter and Intra company e-mail systems, MS Office and other programs as necessary.  Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication.


Three or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Strong computer knowledge to include keyboarding and the ability to learn new program applications.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Solar and the Internet.


Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, margin, markup, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record.
